Purpose of AwardsThe Awards will celebrate achievement and recognise good practice in the field of learning across Bedfordshire and Luton. They aim to highlight the value and huge variety of activities and methods, which take place throughout the area and across all ages. In particular, they recognise innovative developments, which have demonstrably widened participation and social inclusion. Representatives from the short-listed projects/activities will be invited to attend the Award Ceremony. Certificates will be presented by VIP guests. Who can apply?Any learner or organisation, which fit the criteria, can be nominated. Individuals will need to be nominated by a tutor or someone who has knowledge of the learning that they have undertaken. Organisations can nominate themselves, or be nominated by others. All entries should be current, either to do with active learners or projects that are still running or about to complete. NB – Each organisation or learner(s) can be nominated for ONE category only. You can enter different organisations or learner(s) for other award categories. Selection PanelA representative panel of experienced educators, involved in lifelong learning will be convened to judge the nominations we receive and to decide who or which project should receive an award. The selection panel’s decision will be final. All nominations will receive a letter outlining the panel’s decision. Please NoteThe term “learning” is used broadly. It applies to both formal and informal learning. We place a particular emphasis on non-traditional, innovative examples of learning where individuals have benefited from the experience and it has made a real difference to their lives. The Learning Partnership and its partners may use information provided by nominees or projects, which receive awards to promote learning in Bedfordshire and Luton. Good luck!
