Go on, Have a Go!
This year there will be two main day events, one in Bedford Town
Centre on Thursday 20th May and one in Luton Town Centre on Friday
21 May 2010. The aim of the events is to take the learning opportunities
out into the community to communicate with adults and make them
aware of what is available to them locally.
BBC Three Counties Radio will be supporting the events on air and
there will be a FREE PRIZE DRAW for all who sign up for more information.
Bedford Event, Thursday 20th May 2010, St Pauls Square, Bedford,
10.40am – 3.30pm
Outdoor market stalls and demonstrations including taster sessions
and line dancing (weather permitting).
Luton Event, Friday 21st May, The Mall, Arndale Centre, Luton,
10.00am – 4.00pm
A variety of Adult Learners’ Week activities will be taking
place in Smith Square outside Debenhams. Demonstrations and activities
in a wide range of subjects including; Hair & Beauty, Floristry,
Sugarcraft, Construction, Electrical, Dance and much more!
Also in Luton … Jamrock Radio, Collingdon Street, are opening
their doors to the public for a range of free educational activities
& Noah Enterprise, Hightown Road, will be hosting an open day
for information on their popular Joinery & Furniture Making
courses.
Silver Surfers' Day 21 May 2010
Digital Unite and UKOnline2010 are promoting all sorts of activities
to support older people becoming familiar with the benefits of using
a computer.
Find a local event where friendly folk are waiting to show older
people how to get online and make the most of the Internet. Have
you an older family member who would like to see what they are missing?
Or perhaps you care for someone who wants to learn how to use a
computer?
